SportsArt E 825 Elliptical Review

Brief Overview

If you are thinking of putting this much money into an elliptical you are better served by purchasing a unit from True Fitness or Precor. The SportsArt E825 is a very good elliptical for a less ridiculous price than its cousin the E830 but it's still ridiculous. Good quality and a very smooth motion make it an elliptical to consider, but unless you can get a big discount don't buy it.

Overall Quality

I know it sounds like I'm bashing the E825 seeing that the machine is actually a very good elliptical. I just hate to see people dramatically overpay for what they get.

The SportsArt E825 is not a good option. It's not that this is a bad elliptical, but at $4,299, the price is much too high. There are certainly better choices in this price range, particularly from True Fitness or Precor. Even the E82 offers similar quality for only $1,799.

Ergonomically speaking, this machine is pretty good, but you can find a few models that sell for a couple of thousand dollars less and provide a more natural range of motion. The adjustability is pretty good. The electronically adjustable stride can be set between 17-26", which is a wide enough range to work well with many different body types. There are also 20 levels of resistance that let you align your workout with your fitness levels. There aren't many ellipticals that provide more options for adjustments, but some of those that do are significantly less expensive.

As far as projected reliability is concerned, this model isn't bad, but there are a few models selling as low as $1,500 that have comparable life expectancies. The quality of parts used is also nice, but it is very much outweighed by the extremely high price.

The noise levels of the machine are below average. Most ellipticals make about the same amount of noise regardless of price, but this is one of the few models that is a bit quieter than most. If quietness during operation is a major concern for you, there are a couple of ellipticals in this price range that make less noise.

The warranty on the SportsArt E825 is great. Labor is covered for 1 year, electronics are covered for 5 years, parts are covered for 10 years and the frame is covered for life. You'll have a hard time finding an elliptical with better coverage.
