Although it has a relatively compact design, it can never exceed the quality provided by the NordicTrack A.C.T. Commercial. The good points A multi user trainer The Smooth CE 3.0 XT has an adjustable stride length to support different users with different exercise needs. On the other hand, other ellipticals with the $999 tag have adjustable stride from 16" to 22" inches. A variety of workout programs Arming this machine is 19 pre-defined workout programs. It includes manual, 12 preset cardio programs, 2 heart rate control, body fat, and it even gives you an option to record 2 of your own custom workouts. Coupling this feature is the Silent Magnetic resistance, with 24 intensity levels that'll help you get more out of your workout. Awesome warranty The warranty of the Smooth CE 3.0 XT is awesome. Has a lifetime warranty for its frame and brakes, 3 years for parts, and 2 years for labor. Smooth Fitness did a really good job offering a warranty like this. It shows that they are confident in the quality of this trainer. What you won't like Not for music lovers Looks like this trainer is only intended for pure exercise only. People who enjoy exercising while listening to music will miss the mp3/iPod compatibility on this machine. If you're a music lover and can't workout without listening to your favorite songs, this is not for you unless you whip out your earbuds. Less useful heart rate monitoring Although it has a heart rate monitor, this trainer doesn't have a wireless chest. This makes the heart rate monitoring only work if you are using the hand grips. Some trainers in this price range have a wireless chest strap to maximize the usage of heart rate monitoring. Conclusion: Overall, the Smooth CE 3.0 XT is a good trainer. It is one of Smooth Fitness' products that they should be proud of. BUT, in terms of quality with a $999 tag, nothing else can outdo the NordicTrack A.C.T. Commercial, our Best Buy 2014 Winner.
