Gold's Gym Stride Trainer 350 Review We really doubted if we can even find a decent elliptical in the Under $399 category but we want to give a bit of credit to a somewhat decent one amongst the worst of the worst machines out there. This one is the best of them all. The Gold's Gym Stride Trainer 350 automatically became our Best Buy Winner for 2014 produced under the $399 price tag. Actually it costs $277 - really cheap. There's really nothing much to say about this machine. You'll only get credited for picking out the best among the worst machines… sigh… Horrible frame A lightweight, relatively unstable frame design makes the Gold's Gym 350 an extremely uncomfortable ride. The drive system is substandard and the tension system is very poor in quality. 14" stride length is NOT what you would like to see, even for beginners Its stride is 4 inches short from the industry standard. If you are a 5 footer or taller, don't even bother including this in your list. Just save up a couple more bucks and buy one of those in the $500 category. A frigging racket They say that it has the silent magnetic feature on it and it makes for good theater but not for an actual workout. The machine is amazingly noise-free but only for just a week. It clicks, squeaks, and truly takes a lot of the enjoyment out of working out. Annoying LCD screen You would always want to see the tracking system built-in in every elliptical. Although it has a "large" LCD display, the factory has to use a very cheap piece of glass making the resolution somewhere in the vicinity of your 1980's style Atari machines. Warranty coverage is awesomely pathetic What can you really expect from a $277 price tag? You'll only get what you pay for. It only covers a 90 days on both parts and labor, which is expected for a cheap machine. I know this is pathetic but it illustrates the poor construction of this machine. Gold's Gym is know for producing cheap, low cost ellipticals. We would never recommend that you purchase one of these machines. Either spend more money and buy something from Proform or NordicTrack or join a gym for $20 per month.
