How to get the Model Number of the Treadmill
If you have a folding treadmill, you will typically need to place it in the fully folded position to find your model number plate.
When the treadmill is securely placed in the upright position, you should be able to find the model number on the underside of the steel frame deck.
Otherwise, the make and model number are usually found at the front base of the treadmill. This is the area where the power cord goes into the machine.
Once you have located your model number, be very careful and copy it exactly. There may be other numbers on the same label, but the model number will normally be prefixed with "model number". Make sure not to confuse any numbers or letters while copying the model number. When given correctly, it will allow us to properly diagnose the problem you may be having. In addition to diagnosis, if any parts are needed, this number is crucial for identifying the correct parts for your machine.
If you are unsure which information is your model number, snap a picture of the plate or tag with your phone. You can text it to one of our technicians and we can decipher the information for you. This is the most certain way for us to get the right info about your machine.
How to find the model number of your elliptical & bikes
The model number of your elliptical may be found in a few different locations. Depending on the manufacturer, we may need the complete model number or the serial number off the unit. In general, the model and serial number is typically found on the frame of the machine on a data sticker.
On residential bikes and ellipticals, if the model and serial number is not visible on the frame, it can also be found on the console mast of the unit as well as the very bottom. You may have to tip the machine on its side to check for the data sticker. The 3 manufacturers of the most popular residential bikes and ellipticals are ICON, Johnson, and Spirit Fitness.
Icon brands such as Nordictrack, Proform, Weslo, Golds Gym and Freemotion, require the complete model number to properly diagnose and locate correct replacement parts. Johnson brands (Horizon, Vision, Livestrong) and Spirit brands (Sole, Xterra and Spirit) will require the serial number.
Commercial units such as Precor, Life Fitness, True, Cybex and Matrix will require the serial number as well. The data sticker on these machines can be found in similar areas as the residential bikes and ellipticals.
